Grace Us With Your Presence

Grace Us With Your Presence

O God,
the alpha and the omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end,
grace with Your presence
all our endings and our beginnings.

Give us
joy in the newness of life,
humility in the moment of our accomplishment,
gratitude for all that we have been given.
You who now are,
and who was
and who is to come,
be ever present in our transitions.

Lift our hearts beyond the satisfactions of the moment
to the needs of the times,
and sanctify our now
with the memory of our then
and the promise and hope of Your tomorrow.

About Paul Wharton

I am a cradle Catholic, a native West Virginian, and a priest since April 24, 1982. Spiritual Direction has made a tremendous difference in my life and I encourage people to try it out. My motto is "Progress not perfection." I am grateful that God has done for me what I could not do for myself.
