GOD SAID
If you never felt pain,
then how would you know that I’m a Healer?
If you never went through difficulties,
how would you know that I’m a Deliverer?
If you never had a trial,
how could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never felt sadness,
how would you know that I’m a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake,
how would you know that I’m forgiving?
If you knew it all,
how would you know that I will answer your questions?
If you never were in trouble,
how would you know that I will come to your rescue?
If you never were broken,
how would you know that I can make you whole?
If you never had a problem,
how would you know that I can solve them?
If you never had any suffering,
then how would you know what Jesus went through?
If you never went through the fire,
then how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things,
how would you appreciate them?
If I never corrected you,
how would you know that I love you?
If you had all power,
then how would you learn to depend on me?
If your life was perfect,
then what would you need Me for?
About This Blog
Ever since the disciples on the Road to Emmaus, the hearts of believers have caught fire. Hearts on Fire includes words and images intended to spark inspiration, thought, wonder, laughter and prayer. Please feel free to share with me what has inspired you in your spiritual journey. It may show up on this blog.
I am a firm believer in the longstanding Catholic belief that "truth is where you find it," and that all things good come from God. From time to time there will be materials from other faith traditions.

Wow. I needed to read this today. Feeling powerless today. This helps.
Paul,
I especially enjoyed and needed this reading today. I’ve asked these questions often these last 16 months and God did answer my questions.
Thank you again for your presence at Sacred Heart during our centennial celebration. I wanted you to come especially to celebrate Mass but wished you could have been with us on Friday. It was a hard decision but your homily resonated everything that needed to be said. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and always know of my appreciation for your presence in Rod’s and my life. My Catholic faith, God’s unending love, your spiritual direction, and your friendship has helped me these last months. Thank you always, my dear friend. Amber
Wow Fr. Paul all I can say to this is “Amen!”
Most excellent!!!
